01

Add & manage contacts

A contact in connect represents a person you actively want to nurture in your network. Unlike a simple phone contact, each entry has its own structure: when you last reached out, which channel you use, and how often you should get in touch.

When adding a new contact, fill in the key fields. Not all are required, you can always start with just a name and fill in the rest as you learn more.

Name
First and last name. Used as the primary identifier across all views.
Topic / Conversation Topic
What is the subject when you write or talk? E.g. "Startup Feedback", "Investment Ideas", or simply "Personal".
Last Contact
Date of the last conversation or message. The basis for calculating the next reminder.
Next Reminder
Automatically calculated from Last Contact + Frequency Interval. Can be overridden manually.
Frequency
How often you want to reach out, from daily to yearly. Determines the entire rhythm for this contact.
Channel
The medium you use to communicate: WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Email, Phone, Instagram, and more.
Circle
Which group does this contact belong to? Circles help you segment and filter your network.
Note
Free text field for anything worth remembering: conversation topics, shared projects, personal details.
Core Principle

Every contact gets its own pace, from daily to once a year. We think in relationships, not lists: how important is this person, and how often should you reach out?

Quick Actions

Each contact has direct actions available without opening the detail view:

  • Mark as done, sets last contact to today and recalculates the next reminder
  • Snooze, shifts the next reminder by a set period without permanently changing the rhythm
  • Add note, quickly adds a note directly from the list view
  • Open channel, opens the corresponding app (e.g. WhatsApp) with one tap
02

Contact Frequencies

The frequency determines how often connect reminds you about a specific contact. We offer seven predefined intervals covering most networking situations. Choose the frequency based on how you actually prioritize the relationship, not how you think you should.

Frequency Interval Ideal for
Daily 1 day Active projects, daily collaboration
Weekly 7 days Close mentors, active business partners
Biweekly 14 days Good acquaintances, regular colleagues
Monthly 30 days Network contacts, investors, clients
Quarterly 90 days Casual acquaintances, longer-term contacts
Biannually 180 days Keeping older contacts alive
Annually 365 days Important but rarely met contacts
Tip: Start with fewer contacts and a higher frequency. Quality over quantity. Ten well-maintained contacts beat a hundred forgotten ones. You can adjust the frequency any time, connect recalculates automatically.

The frequency also affects your Health Score: if you haven’t reached out to a weekly contact in two weeks, it counts as overdue and lowers your score accordingly.

03

The Daily Overview (Today)

The “Today” view is the heart of connect. It shows at a glance which contacts are scheduled for today, sorted by priority and status. The goal: open, see, act, done.

The view divides contacts into three color-coded states:

  • Overdue, the reminder date has passed. These contacts appear first and are highlighted as most urgent.
  • Due today, the date is exactly today. The perfect moment to reach out.
  • Coming up, due in the next 1–3 days. Optionally visible so you can plan ahead.
The 5-Minute Principle

5 minutes daily is enough: open the app → see who’s due → send a message → mark as done → finished.

Step by Step

  1. 1
Open the app. The “Today” view is the default home screen and immediately shows all due contacts.
  2. 2
Tap a contact to see details: last conversation topic, channel, and your saved note as a conversation starter.
  3. 3
Choose “Open channel” to write directly in WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or your preferred app.
  4. 4
Once you’ve reached out, tap “Mark as done”. connect updates the date and removes the contact from the Today list.
  5. 5
You can also snooze a contact, e.g. if they’re on holiday, without losing the overall rhythm.
Note: Skipping a day loses no data. Overdue contacts wait patiently, they just become more prominent the longer you wait.
04

Circles & Groups

Circles are groups that divide your network into meaningful segments. Each contact belongs to exactly one circle. Circles make it easy to filter by context: “Show me only my investors” or “Who from my Clients circle is due this week?”

You can create as many circles as you like, but experience shows the system works best with a manageable number of clearly defined groups.

Examples of useful Circles
  • Investors, potential or active backers
  • Clients, existing or potential customers
  • Mentors, people you learn from
  • Colleagues, current and former coworkers
  • Friends, your personal network
  • Family, close relatives you want to keep in the loop

Circle Properties

Name
Freely chosen title, e.g. "Investors", "Clients", "Mentors" or "Berlin Network".
Color
Each circle has an accent color visible in the contact list and tags.
Emoji
An optional emoji as a visual anchor, makes scanning lists faster.
Topic
Optional description of the circle’s purpose, to provide context for future reviews.

Create a New Circle

  1. 1
Navigate to the "Circles" section in the bottom tab bar of the app.
  2. 2
Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to create a new Circle.
  3. 3
Enter a name, choose a color, and optionally an emoji. Confirm with “Save”.
  4. 4
Assign contacts to this circle when adding them or in the edit view.
Tip: Use at most 5–7 circles to stay organized. Too many groups make the system confusing and slow your daily routine.
05

Network Health Score

The Health Score is a metric from 0 to 100 % that shows how actively you maintain your network. An honest answer to: “How well are you really keeping your relationships alive?”

The score is calculated in real time and updates every time you mark a contact as done or a date passes.

Calculation Formula
Health Score = (contacts maintained on time ÷ total contacts) × 100

"Maintained on time" means: you reached out within the defined frequency interval. A contact that is two days overdue counts as not maintained.

Score Interpretation

Very good
80–100%
Room to grow
50–79%
Critical
0–49%

Improving your score

  • Reduce the number of contacts and focus on the most important relationships
  • Set a realistic frequency, quarterly and consistent beats monthly and skipped
  • Use the “Today” view daily, even if it’s just one contact
  • Snooze contacts deliberately instead of ignoring them, keeps the score realistic
  • Enable push notifications so you don’t miss due dates
Important: The Health Score is a tool, not a verdict. A score of 70 % across 50 contacts is more impressive than 100 % across 3. Use it as guidance, not as pressure.
06

The Reminder System

We remind you automatically when it’s time to reach out, without overwhelming you. One reminder at the right time, no more.

Every reminder is based on the contact’s due date: last contact date plus the frequency interval. Once that date arrives, connect triggers a push notification.

When you get reminded
  • On the due date: one notification at your configured time (default: 9:00 AM)
  • Multiple contacts due: one bundled notification instead of many separate ones
  • Overdue contacts: daily reminder until you mark the contact as done

Adjust your reminder time

  1. 1
Open app settings via the gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. 2
Navigate to “Notifications” and choose your preferred time of day.
  3. 3
You can also set whether you want reminders on weekends.

Enable Push Notifications

The reminder system only works if you’ve allowed push notifications for connect. If you’re not receiving them, check iOS Settings under Settings → connect → Notifications and make sure they’re enabled.

We only remind you when it’s truly time, not more often. The system is intentionally restrained so networking stays a pleasant habit, not a stressor.
07

Gamification: Streaks, Levels & Badges

We make networking measurable and motivating. The gamification system rewards consistent action, not with points for their own sake, but with a realistic picture of your growth as a networker.

Streaks

A streak counts how many consecutive days you’ve maintained at least one contact. The counter is visible in the Today view and on your profile.

  • Every day you mark at least one contact as done increases your streak by 1
  • Missing a day completely resets the streak to 0
  • Streaks build the daily habit, even on busy days, one contact is often enough

XP & Level-System

For each contact you maintain, you earn 10 XP multiplied by your streak multiplier (1.0× to 2.0×). These add up to unlock 13 levels, a measure of your networking maturity over time.

Streak multiplier: 1.0 + min(streak × 0.1; 1.0). A 7-day streak gives 1.7× XP; from 10 days the maximum 2.0× applies.

Streak Freeze ❄️

A Streak Freeze protects your streak for one missed day without resetting it. You earn one freeze per 7 consecutive streak days; up to 2 can be stored. New users start with 2 freeze tokens.

How it works: if you miss a day and have a freeze, it’s consumed automatically and your streak stays intact. No action needed, connect handles it for you.

Badges, 48 in total

Badges are awarded once when you hit specific milestones. They stay permanently on your profile and trigger a full-screen confetti celebration. Badges cover every aspect of networking: contact milestones, streak records, XP thresholds, daily/weekly/monthly achievements, network diversity, and special accomplishments.

Leaderboard

The global leaderboard ranks all connect users by weekly XP. Your profile shows display name, industry, city, short bio, current level, streak, and weekly XP. The top 3 are highlighted on a podium.

  • The ranking resets weekly, consistent daily activity counts more than occasional bursts
  • Your rank, weekly XP, streak, and level icon are visible to other users
  • You receive an in-app notification when your rank changes significantly
  • Accessible via the “Leaderboard” tab in the app
The leaderboard is optional. Networking isn’t a competition, but a little friendly ambition doesn’t hurt. Use it as inspiration, not a benchmark. Your personal progress matters more than your rank.
09

Daily Goal & Progress Tracking

The daily goal sets how many contacts you want to maintain per day. Your progress is shown as a ring on the Stats screen and in several widgets. When you hit the goal, a notification celebrates the achievement.

PresetContacts/dayStyle
🌊 Relaxed1 contactSimple daily habit, ideal for beginners
⚡ Active2 contactsRegular rhythm for active networkers
🔥 Intensive4 contactsAmbitious goal for serious networkers
💀 Beast Mode7 contactsMaximum effort, for the determined

The Stats screen also shows activity charts: a 14-day daily view and an 8-week weekly view, both with a dashed target line. The most recent bar is highlighted so you can see your progress at a glance.

AI Features

quik connect integrates Claude AI (Anthropic) to deliver smart, context-aware conversation starters and news hooks, so you always have something meaningful to say when you reach out.

Circle News Summary

AI-powered news can be enabled per circle. connect searches Google News for the 3 most relevant articles based on the circle name and topic. The AI summarizes each in one sentence, giving you real talking points for your next contact.

  • Finds the 3 most current relevant news items for your circle topic
  • Each result shows title, one-line summary, source, and direct link
  • Results are cached for 2 hours; tap "Refresh" to reload manually
  • Monthly quota: 30 AI requests per user across all circles
  • Circle name must be at least 3 characters or the topic at least 5 characters

AI Conversation Hooks

For each contact, connect can generate a personalized 1–2 sentence conversation starter. The AI considers the name, relationship type, circle topic, and your saved notes, picking a different angle each time: news hook, industry trend, open question, or provocative thought.

Example Hook

"Hey Marcus, I just read that early-stage valuations in B2B SaaS are picking up again. Given the Series A timing you mentioned, what are you seeing on your end?"

Privacy note: For hook generation, only name, relationship type, circle name, and your notes are sent to the AI. No phone numbers, no email addresses, no contact history.
11

iOS Widgets

quik connect offers five home screen widgets that display your key network stats directly on the lock screen or home screen, without opening the app. All widgets update every 30 minutes.
